4. Writing the text: 16 points

Execution time 40-45 minutes.

The essence of the task: to write a text according to the proposed schedule

  • in your text should be: title, introduction, data (numbers, statistics) from the schedule, analysis of the schedule, conclusion

Tip 2: prepare a dictionary of words such as “rise” = “increase, increase, increase, strengthen, ascend…”

or “sharply” = “rapidly, cool …” — this is necessary to describe the schedule and enrich speech

Tip 3: train to describe the schedule now. If you can write well in your native language, then translating all the same into Czech will not cause you difficulties

Yes, one of the tasks is to reflect on the reasons why the graph looks like this and usually the answer lies on the surface: do not invent a bicycle, remember that this is a language exam and the examiner evaluates your grammar and speech, not knowledge of history, so do not complicate it.

The oral part of the ZKLF exam in the Czech language for admission to the medical faculties of Charles University

  1. Monologue on one of the elongated topics + answers to the examiner’s questions
  2. Presentation of your own prepared topic + answers to the examiner’s questions

As for the 1st part (a monologue on an elongated topic), then you can come across absolutely any topic from medical ethics:

cloning, animal experiments, etc. – common topics.

After you pull out the topic, you will be given time to prepare and here the most important thing is to speak, not to be silent! The more silent you are, the more questions you will be asked, and it is not a fact that you will be able to answer them. Try to prepare your monologue so that you can talk continuously for at least a few minutes

As for the 2nd part (your own presentation), your task is to prepare a speech on any medical topic (or medical ethics) in advance

Attention. It is necessary to prepare not a presentation in Power point, but a report / speech in order to present it to the commission. Simply put, prepare your speech for the second part of C1. Write it by hand or on a computer and let your Czech language teacher check it. Your task is to speak clearly and distinctly for 5-7 minutes, so calculate the number of words based on this

  • you can prepare and bring diagrams and drawings in advance if they help to reflect the essence of your topic. But you can do without them. That’s what most students do.
  • of course, you cannot read from a piece of paper, you must know your monologue perfectly, so try to divide the text into some logical parts: introduction, main part, 1st argument, 2nd argument, etc.
  • try to anticipate the questions that the commission could ask you in advance and prepare answers to them.  Most of the questions can be predicted in advance and prepared.
