Is there a chance if I didn’t enroll in medical school in Prague? It often happens that there are not enough points for admission to medicine in the Czech Republic. However, do not despair, because there is the second wave of admission to medical faculties of the czech republic. This is a chance for many foreigners when the admissions office reduces the number of points for admission and students who have a close number of points enter.
How does the second wave of admission to medical faculties in the Czech Republic work?
After the entrance exams, the commission begins to check the work and, based on the results, sets a certain score limit – applicants who score n-number of points or more enter, people who are below a certain number of points do not.
Then all applicants receive the results and incoming foreigners who are interested in studying at this faculty come to enroll “in students” and automatically become students of this educational institution. After that, people who signed up “as students” are counted and the faculty decides whether it is ready to accept more students or not.
As a rule, almost all medical faculties of Charles University conduct the second wave of admission to medicine in Prague.
The faculty is re-recruiting students, since not all people who have passed to the faculty go to enroll “as students.” Someone will change their mind about entering this faculty, someone will want to study in another city, etc., the places of these people are vacated.

An indicator of how much the faculty lacks students this year is how much the faculty reduces points. If the scores are lowered by about 1-2, then this means that this year there was either a low passing score, or many people successfully wrote the entrance exam. If the scores are lowered by 3-8, this means that this year the passing score is high and the faculty is ready to lower the scores for the recruitment of students in order to announce the second wave of applications for medical faculties of the Czech Republic.
People who are below the very limit of admission (depending on how much the faculty lowers the passing score) in mid-late July will receive an email with information that they have entered the faculty and the date of enrollment in students.
